March's wild weather continues with snow on Dartmoor and warnings from the Met Office

Giant hailstones also rained down across south Devon at lunchtime

Despite signs of spring on the horizon, the residents of Dartmoor woke up wintery scenes this morning after the moor was blanketed in snow. 

Local photographer Mark Shackleton captured these photos of near the Warren House Inn and on Hameldown Ridge this morning. 

Giant hailstones also rained down across south Devon at lunchtime. 

Tomorrow, the wild weather continues, with the Met Office issuing a Yellow Weather  Warning for south Devon for wind. Expect strong winds and large coastal waves may lead to hazardous conditions.

The warning is in force from 7am to 6pm tomorrow.

What to Expect:

  • There is a small chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected
  • There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
  • There is a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties
  • There is a small chance that some roads and bridges could close
