Frying high! Bay restaurant team has lots to celebrate at Christmas

It may seem a little corny but one Torbay business is literally 'frying' high.
The Pier Point fish and chips restaurant is celebrating a record year when it comes to awards both as a business and for some of the individuals who work there.
Owner Lorraine Arnold won the James Wright inspirational leader category in the Torbay Weekly Naturally Inspiring Business Awards.
James Astles was Highly Commended in the Best Support Act category in the Devon Women in Business Awards.
Pier Point is the only business in South Devon to make it through to the finals of the prestigious industry national Fish and Chip Awards in February with Charlie James in the top six for Young Fish Fryer of the Year, Pier Point in the top 10 for Best Employee and top 10 for Field to Fryer awards.
And Santa has joined the Torquay seafront business for Christmas, with money from his grotto visits being donated to Rowcroft Hospice.
Lorraine Arnold said: “All of this is a huge honour and I am so proud of the team getting this far and also being the only restaurant in Devon for three of the categiories and South Devon for one of them.
“It's great for Torbay and shouting out how amazing out poart of the country is.”
The Pier Point Santa Claus will be a great festive addition to the Bay of Lights Christmas illuminations special, which goes straight past its front door.
Loraine says: “In the spirit of giving, Pier Point is proud to announce that all profits generated from the winter wonderland Christmas grotto during this joyous season will be donated to Rowcroft Hospice, a charity close to our hearts.”
Santa will be in his grotto from now to December 23 between 12 noon and 6pm.
