Latest from the Torbay Table Tennis League

NA Buzzards hit the top of the first division table with a fine 9-1 victory over clubmates NA Parrots. Simon James, making his first appearance for the Buzzards, and Herbie Sage were unbeaten, Ben Hoare preventing the whitewash with the Parrots’ point. NA Condors and Brixham Sharks couldn’t be separated as they played out an exciting 5-5 draw.

Brixham Trawlers lead the second division table despite losing narrowly to Grove Guerrillas 6-4. Colin Butterworth leading the way for the Guerrillas with another maximum. NA Raptors in second place also suffered a 6-4 defeat against their clubmates NA Falcons, Ed Thompson was unbeaten for the Falcons. Neville Cregan and Svetlozar Gander maximums helped Torbay Academy 2 to an impressive victory over NA Kestrels.

Pierre Doutreligne and Prabhu Kashap maximums helped Dawlish Renegades to a comfortable 8-2 victory over NA Harriers in the only third division fixture this week.

There were good wins for two Newton Abbot sides in the fourth division. The NA Ospreys team of Rob Ferguson, Mark Dulling and Ken Ramsden whitewashed Brixham Seals and NA Vultures collected their first win of the season defeating Torbay Academy 6 8-2. Young James Kitchen was unbeaten for the Vultures and was well supported by Max Fearon and James Gilbert who won a couple of singles each.
