Torbay athletes compete in the sun at Totnes

Great results from Torbay AAC in Totnes

Torbay Amateur Athletics Club had a great turnout at the Totnes 10k and a total of 17 Torbay AAC members were blessed to be able to run in the sunshine starting at Totnes Leisure centre.
This was an off-road event, which consisted of paths and fields, not forgetting the hills that were challenging at times. The course was generous, giving a total of 6.5 undulating miles.
The stand-out performances of the day were from Heather Eve, first F45 with another impressive time of 52.04.
Alex Snell finished in 16th place, claiming the 2nd M40 position with a very speedy time of 45.12
Kevin Fine came 38th S35 3rd in his age category with a sprint finish in 50.20. Tessa Hearfield came 279th FV65 3rd in her age category, with an impressive time of 01.07.47

Torbay AAC were at the Velopark last Friday evening for the South Devon 3k relays. Four of the juniors formed a team “Hayley’s Hurricanes”. They all ran amazingly and were 9th overall out of 63 teams and the quickest junior team!
Results as follows: Leon Snell 10:25 Adam Holland 11:47 Gwilym Lewis 11:11 Scarlett Muscott 11:24
The Senior Mixed team finished 23rd out of 63 teams, placing 3rd for the mixed category. Mark Smith started them off with a time of 12:07, followed by Penny Richards (13:37), Chloe Weeks (11:26), and a sprint to the finish by Steve Weeks (10:55).
