WATCH VIDEO: Amazing footage of a dolphin pod spotted just off the coast of Brixham

Fisherman Tristan's 'awe-inspiring' moments captured on camera - an experience 'beyond words'

Brixham fisherman Tristan Northway has shared these 'awe-inspiring' moments when a large pod of dolpins graced the waters off Torbay.

Tristan, also known by my unique moniker, 'Mr Fish', owns the Adela BM79, the smallest Brixham trawler in operation.

Tristan, the only trawler to sell fish direct to the public, said on his Facebook page: "I am privileged to call the picturesque town of Brixham my home port. I've also incorporated a thrilling and innovative aspect to my business. Through the power of social media, specifically Facebook, I provide a truly immersive experience for my customers. By live-streaming the entire process, you can witness firsthand the exciting moment when your fish is plucked from the depths of the ocean, right on your screens.

"As I embarked on a trawling expedition off the coast of Brixham, an extraordinary encounter unfolded before my eyes. While going about my work, I noticed a magnificent pod of dolphins gracefully swimming in my direction. The sight was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The dolphins, moving swiftly through the water, leaping with astounding agility, were headed straight towards the Adela. This encounter was truly exceptional.

"To witness these incredible creatures in their natural habitat, swimming at high speeds and gracefully breaching the water's surface, was an experience beyond words.

"While I've had my fair share of remarkable encounters with marine life over the years, yesterday's encounter surpassed them all. The sheer power and beauty of these dolphins as they propelled themselves towards my vessel, the Adela, was an unforgettable sight that left me in complete awe. In the world of fishing and seafaring adventures, moments like these are the ones that remind me of the wonders that await us in the vast expanse of the ocean."
