Churston Golf Club is celebrating one of its own as rising star Jack Dart makes waves in competitive golf. A lifelong member of the club, Dart has represented Devon Golf with distinction and is now forging his path on the national stage in the 2025/26 R&A Student Tour Series.

Known for his skill, dedication and sportsmanship, Dart has become a respected figure both on and off the course. He is admired within Churston Golf Club not only for his talent but also for his role as a mentor and role model to junior and amateur golfers.

Dart’s performances at home have been equally remarkable. Last year, he recorded a stunning 63 around the Churston course, widely regarded as one of the finest rounds in the club’s history. His achievements helped him claim the prestigious Gold Medal and played a key part in leading the club’s team to a memorable Torbay Cup victory.

As he competes in the R&A Student Tour Series, Churston Golf Club will be closely following Dart’s progress, sharing updates on his results and experiences as he continues to build an impressive competitive record. His journey reflects both personal dedication and the strong tradition of excellence at the club, offering inspiration to the next generation of golfers.

Jack Dart’s rise is a source of pride for Churston Golf Club and the wider Devon golfing community, and supporters eagerly await the next chapters of his promising career.

While golf courses in South Devon are drowning in the recent weather conditions, Churston club professional travelled down to Trevose GC in Cornwall for the latest Devon & Cornwall PGA event, recording an excellent one-under par round to bag fifth place.

Congratulations are also in order for the Men’s Seniors section at Torquay Golf Club, as they have raised an incredible £877 for The Bro Project, chosen as Senior Captain Colin Brimicombe’s Charity of the Year 2025, supporting men’s mental health through sport and activity.

Moving inland a few miles, and it was a happy retirement over Christmas to Dainton Park’s Head Greenkeeper Graham, who tended the course from the very beginning, over 34 years on the fairways and given the recent monsoons, it was a good time to put the feet up!
