Malvern Town FC
A trip to promotion-chasing Malvern Town was always going to be difficult for Brixham AFC and the Fishermen were caught in a first-half Worcestershire whirlwind.
Brixham had no response to their rampant hosts in the opening 45 minutes, trailing by a painful 5-0 deficit at the break, but the second-half was full of character, which will give them hope for the survival scrap ahead.
James Moxon scored twice for Brixham and when a third hit the net, an incredible comeback was briefly on the cards, but Malvern restored order with two late goals for a 7-3 victory.
There is little respite in the weeks to come for Brixham, as they host high-flying Portishead Town this weekend and then travel to leaders Frome Town. After that, however, the schedule becomes a little kinder and the season will surely be defined by games against the teams around them in the table.
