NA Buzzards’ 8-2 victory over Halwell took them to the top of the first division table in the Torbay and South Devon Table Tennis League. Herbie Sage and Kevin Nicholls were undefeated for the Buzzards.

Unbeaten NA Owls, with Pawel Juraszczyk in fine form, narrowly won in Totnes against the Grove Guerrillas 6-4. Paul Davey was undefeated as his NA Eagles’ team just overcame the challenge from clubmates NA Ravens 6-4.

Brixham Trawlers have opened up a big gap at the top of the second division table thanks to a 9-1 victory over NA Falcons, the Shipley twins, Nicholas and Stuart, were again unbeaten for the Trawlers.

In an all Torbay Academy affair Academy 3 drew with Academy 2, another Alex Fialho maximum helping Academy 3 to a share of the points.

The third division is incredibly close with just 8 points separating the top and bottom sides. NA Harriers remain at the top as they shared the points with second placed Brixham Gulls. A Lee Raymond maximum helped the Harriers to a 5-2 lead, which they then let slip.

Torre Spartans also let a 5-2 lead slip as third placed NA Kestrels recovered to share the points, the Spartans’ Rob Austin, making his league debut, was undefeated in his singles.

NA Kites made it three wins out of three, a fine all round team performance saw them defeat the Taverners 7-3. An Aaron Southgate maximum helped Torbay Academy 4 defeat Torbay Academy 5, 7-3.

The fourth division leaders Grove Tigers, Jeff Cornish, Nigel Langley and Tom Foley whitewashed Brixham Seals 10-0. Second placed NA Merlins narrowly defeated clubmates NA Ospreys 6-4 thanks to maximums from Dominic Ozuna-Montero and Doug Morgan.

A Phil Jewell maximum assisted his Torbay Academy 6 team in their 8-2 victory over Torbay Academy 7. David Sanders and Andy Clitheroe were undefeated as Teignmouth Delinquents defeated NA Vultures 7-3.
