Torquay Rowing Club host the penultimate regatta of the West of England Amateur Rowing Association’s 2025 nine regatta Championship series as part of Torbay Royal Regatta on Saturday, August 23.

The Regatta has attracted 92 entries from around the region which has necessitated 33 events for single sculls, double and quadruple sculls, coxless pairs and coxed fours.

Racing will commence at 11:00 with the last race at 15:16. Boat trailers will be positioned along the promenade by the sunken gardens and the boats will boat on the water at the corner of Abbey Sands.

The race course will be 1000 metres from Livermead Head to the knuckle of Princess Pier.

Swimmers and paddle boarders are asked to be aware and to not encroach onto the course for their safety as the nature of the sport is that the competitors are rowing backwards and therefore only glance to see where they are going and not having time to scan what may be in the water.

Each race will be followed by an umpire’s launch and race marshal boats will be in attendance on the lookout for any outside interference on the course.

There will be commentary on the racing and the best views to watch will be from Corbyn Head or Princess Pier.
