Churston Golf Club win the Torbay Cup

Churston Golf Club after a stellar team display and one incredible individual performance.

Taking on rivals from the Golf Clubs of Dainton, Stover, Teignmouth, Torquay and Dawlish Warren, Churston enjoyed a super first day in the foursomes and fourball formats.

Churston amassed 38 points to hold a narrow lead over Torquay and Dawlish, but the singles on Sunday was where the cup was won.

Partnering with Matt Curnoe in the pairs rounds, Churston’s Jack Dart played a starring role in a sensational -10 score in the fourballs, and Dart continued that form in the singles, recording a fabulous 63 to ensure he took 18 points from the 18 available in his own matches.

Added to the performances of his team-mates, Dart’s super scoring ensured Churston GC emerged as deserving winners of the Torbay Cup 2025, their first victory in this competition since 2012.

As well as Torbay glory for the Churston team, Devon Girls have won the SW Girls Inter County Championships at Broadstone GC. Churston were well represented with three of their own in the team. Congratulations to Belle Tarr (3/4points) Georgia Denega (2.5/5points) & Edith Cotten-Strong (4/5points). Churston are extremely proud of you girls.
