Nearly 150 of the best cyclists in the UK are set to descend on South Devon for Friday’s Dawlish Grand Prix.

The town centre will be turned into a spectacular race track for the sixth and final round of the Lloyds National Circuit Series. The Women’s and Men’s finales will start at 7pm and 8pm respectively, lasting 50 minutes each.

But the GP meeting will also feature a busy programme of age-group races and other cycling-related events.

It’s a coup for Dawlish to be awarded the final round of a series, which will also have visited Otley, Ilkley, Guildford, Sheffield and Colne.

The senior classes are still up for grabs, ensuring strong fields at this stage of the series.

Yorkshire-born duo Thomas Armstrong (Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli) from Barnsley and Robyn Clay (DAS-Hutchinson) from Leeds are in pole positions for the main titles, but neither is settled.

The action is due to start at 1pm, and the schedule includes a community ride, a Corporate Race and events for Under-12s, Youth and Category 3/4 riders before the main events in the evening.
