Ozzy on the books at Plainmoor
Torquay United have signed forward Offrande ‘Ozzy’ Zanzala on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
Born in Congo, Zanzala emigrated with his family to Austria in 1999 and later to England, where he signed for the Derby County Academy. Loan spells with Stevenage, Chester and Accrington gave him a taste of first-team action, and Zanzala made a permanent switch to Stanley 2018.
After two years with Accrington, the 28 year-old moved to Crewe Alexandra and also includes Carlisle United, Barrow, Exeter City (loan) and Newport County on his CV.
He signed for AFC Fylde in the summer of 2024 but when he agreed a mutual cancellation of his contract with the Coasters, United boss Paul Wotton swooped to add an exciting new component to his attacking line-up for the remainder of the campaign.
Zanzala will wear number 17 at Plainmoor and he is immediately eligible for the trip to Weston-super-Mare tonight.
