Donations kindly requested for injured Stoke Gabriel footballer

A fundraiser has been started to support Stoke Gabriel & Torbay Police FC midfielder Rachel Fleming, who sadly sustained a broken leg and dislocated ankle in a women’s league fixture at Budleigh Salterton.

Rachel requires an operation that will involve metal pins being inserted into her leg, and to add to this pain, she will move on to statutory sick pay for the period she is sidelined from work.

It is, unfortunately, a familiar tale in amateur football, and the financial risk players take for just participating in the game they love.

But, Stoke Ladies have responded to their team-mate’s horrible situation by setting up a fundraiser to help Rachel. Donations can be made by searching for Rachel Fleming on the GoFundMe site and it would be fantastic if the local sporting community can help a player in her time of need.
