Torbay AAC members running in Newquay and Cockington
Three Torbay AAC athletes ran The Fairytale of Newquay 30mile Ultra Marathon organised by Purple Gecko Events.
The runners took o an out-and-back course starting on Porth Beach Newquay and heading to Harlyn Bay and back again, all along the north Cornish coast path.
Hayley Ratcliffe ran the 15-mile long half and Mark Luscombe made his Canicross debut on the Long Half Marathon.
A challenging course but the weather was kind apart from the biting wind.

Closer to home, the long awaited Cockington Christmas Caper was finally able to take place. The race had been rescheduled after Storm Darragh. With over EIGHT miles of hills, twists, turns, stream crossings and woodland trails, this race is a firm favourite on the local running calendar.
The morning was mild with a cold breeze but the low winter sun shone brightly in the blue sky. The conditions out on the course were good and the finish line welcomed the athletes with Christmas cake and a Caper mug.
