Barbara Mears
Torquay rower triumphant in Teign test
The eighth regatta of the nine regatta Coastal Rowing League was hosted by the River Teign Rowing Club. The Ness Monster Regatta provided good conditions, which produced some exciting racing.
The club set a new 7 kilometre course for quads and 4.5 kilometre course for doubles and singles. They also added a shorter course 2.2 kilometres for the novice crews.
Torquay’s sole representative, Barbara Mears, excelled again in the Women’s single sculls 60+ winning her race.
The final regatta of the 2024 Coastal Rowing series is the Pier to Pier Race at Torquay on October 26.
