Great success on the water for Torquay Rowing Club

The Coastal Rowing League have updated the current standings after four regattas with five qualifying regattas still to be held in the current season.

Torquay Rowing Club lead in two of the categories and hold second in another. Ian Wilson and Rus Bammens lead in the Open over 60 double sculls; Barbara Mears leads a strong field in the Women’s over 60 single sculls; and Jane Nicholls and Barbara Mears hold second place in the Women’s over 50 double sculls.

The League is now on a mid-season break and resumes with the next event at the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta on August 24.

Coastal Rowing League standings after four regattas: Open coxed quadruple sculls: 1 Exmouth A – 20pts, 2 Mayflower A – 19pts, 3 Teign Scullers B – 15pts.

Open over 50 coxed quadruple sculls: 1 Barbarians A – 24pts, 2 Mayflower A – 20pts, 3 Exmouth A – 12pts.

Open double sculls: 1 Exmouth A – 20pts, 2 Teign Scullers A -18pts, 3 Barbarians A – 10pts.

Open over 50 double sculls: 1 Exmouth A – 23pts, 2 MAABC A – 8pts, 3 Tees RC A – 6pts.

Open over 60 double sculls: 1 Torquay A – 6pts.

Open single sculls: 1 Robin S – Mayflower – 14pts, 2= Jamie B – Barbarians – 9pts, Lee C – Greenbank Falmouth – 9pts.

Open over 50 single sculls: 1 Lee C – Greenbank Falmouth – 12pts, 2 Mark C – Mayflower – 11pts, 3 Rachel P – Teign Scullers – 9pts

Open over 60 single sculls: 1 Rich R – Exmouth – 15pts, 2 Bob C – Barbarians -12pts, 3 Andy W – Carrick – 6pts.

Women’s coxed quadruple sculls: 1 Barbarians A – 21pts, 2 CRAC A – 18pts, 3 Teign Scullers B – 13pts.

Women’s over 50 coxed quadruple sculls: 1 Exmouth A – 22pts, 2 Mayflower A – 16pts, 3 Barbarians A – 8pts.

Women’s over 60 coxed quadruple sculls: 1 Mayflower A – 6pts.

Women’s double sculls: 1 CRAC A – 18pts, 2 Teign Scullers A – 15pts, 3 Barbarians A – 5pts.

Women’s over 50 double sculls: 1 CRAC A – 12 pts, 2 Torquay A – 6pts.

Women’s over 60 double sculls: 1= Carrick A – 6pts and Mayflower A – 6pts.

Women’s single sculls: 1 Rachel P – Teign – 16pts, 2 Anna C – Exmouth – 13pts, 3 Marie T – Barbarians – 12pts.

Women’s over 50 single sculls: 1 Kirsty J – Barbarians – 18pts, 2 Julie M – Mayflower – 15pts, 3 Erika M – Exmouth – 12pts.

Women’s over 60 single sculls: 1 Barbara Mears – Torquay – 17pts, 2 Anne J – Exmouth – 16pts, 3 Sally M – Carrick – 4pts.

Mixed coxed quadruple sculls: 1 Exmouth A – 17pts, 2 Barbarians A – 16pts, 3 Carrick A – 14pts.

Mixed over 50 coxed quadruple sculls: 1 Barbarians A - 24pts, 2 Exmouth A - 20pts, 3 Mayflower A - 13pts.

Mixed double sculls: 1 Carrick A – 20pts, 2 Exmouth A 19pts, 3 Teign Scullers A 17pts.

Mixed over 50 double sculls: 1 Exmouth A – 22pts, 2 MAABC A – 15pts, 3 CRAC A – 8pts.

Mixed over 60 double sculls: 1 Exmouth A - 23 pts, 2 Carrick A – 6pts.
