Brixham RFC have taken one step toward reaching the final of the Devon Senior Cup after a thrilling 44-39 victory in the semi-final first leg at Exmouth.

It was an outstanding game of rugby and the return leg at Astley Park on Saturday has all the ingredients for another classic, with Brixham holding a five-point advantage in the quest to meet Devonport Services in the showpiece final.

There was, however, heartbreak for Brixham Crusaders in Devon Shield semi-final, as they lost an epic encounter to Crediton 2nds, 34-36. The Colts also went down in the last-four game, just falling short to South Molton.

Waiting in that final for South Molton will be Torquay Colts, who booked their place with a battling 19-7 victory over Okehampton. Will Kenefick, Kieran Wells and Gabriel Keshishian scored the tries, with Wells also adding the extras.

Torquay U15s travelled to Ivybridge for the Devon Cup Final and gave everything in another entertaining encounter before eventually going down to a 38-17 defeat.

Silverware has arrived at Paignton RFC, as the U18 girls won the Devon Cup in a combined team with Kingsbridge, defeating Ivybridge / Exmouth 58-5 in a dominant display. Paignton Ladies went down 17-0 at Sidmouth.
