Third successive league title for United U18s
Torquay United U18s have won a third successive South West Counties Youth League title, sealing the trophy with a confident 5-2 victory over Yeovil Town last weekend.
The young Gulls knew three points would get the job done and they set about their task with impressive efficiency, cruising to the win with goals from Tom Chastey (2), Liam Poole, Will Brennan and U16 call-up Lucas Robinson.
“I’m really pleased for the players,” said Torquay United U18 boss KevinWills. “They have got their just rewards for all their hard work and commitment.
“They are a fantastic group, and they have been very consistent throughout the course of the season.”
United U18s now move on to the South West Counties League Cup Final against Bridgwater U18s on Saturday, April 27. The game is being played at Plainmoor with a midday kick off. Tickets are available to purchase online and priced at just £6 for general admission, £3 for season-ticket holders and £1 for U12s.
Victory in the final will complete a superb double for the young Gulls, who are the future of the club, as demonstrated by first-year pro Calum Thomas and current U18 Jacob Wellington featuring on the first-team bench last weekend.
