Joel takes on the juniors
The summer season at Torquay Lawn Tennis Club will see a new member of the coaching team encouraging players to showcase their skills on the courts.
Joel Greatrex, who has been a member of the club for many years, is taking up a coaching position under the guidance of head coach Steve Maslen.
Greatrex has just completed a degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Cardiff University and will begin his coaching career at the Torquay club, where he will be in charge of the Junior development Programme.
Torquay Tennis Club boasts some of the best facilities in the South-West, including nine outdoor courts, three indoor courts, mini courts and the recent development of dedicated Pickleball and Padel courts.
“We are a hidden gem in the Bay,” said Maslen. “We have an excellent junior section, opportunities for kids to come and have a go to see if they like the sport, through to players competing at a very high level.
“We offer a very good social experience at the club, with regular theme nights, so there really is something else to enjoy alongside playing tennis.” Best of luck to Steve, Joel and the whole team for the tennis summer.
