With the top two sides in the first division having a week off, NA Buzzards took the advantage to take over the top spot with a thumping 10-0 victory over NA Parrots, writes Tony Halse.
Herbie Sage, Kevin Nicholls and Simon James are all doing well for the Buzzards. Mark Burridge and Bryan Birkbeck were unbeaten as NA Eagles defeated basement side Halwell A 8-2.
Dawlish Aces, with maximums from David Davies and Mark Sharratt, drew level on points with Brixham Trawlers at the top of the second-division table following their 9-1 victory over struggling NA Kestrels. NA Falcons climbed three places with a fine 7-3 victory at Totnes against the Grove Guerrillas. The Guerrillas’ Colin Butterworth collected a maximum for the losing side.
There was just the one-third division encounter between two teams in the bottom half of the table. Brixham Seals defeated NA Harriers 7-3 thanks to a fine maximum from Nick Williamson.
Division four leaders, Torbay Academy 5, had another tough match but came through 6-4 with a fine final doubles victory against NA Ospreys to stay top of the table. Rob Ferguson had a maximum for the Ospreys. Second-placed Dawlish Doubtfuls, with Marc Grim still unbeaten, lost ground on the leaders as they were held to a 5-5 draw by Torre Gladiators.
