Charity on crest of wave as robe firm steps up support

Pioneers in outdoor clothing, dryrobe, are expanding their partnership with The Wave Project and stepping up support for the incredible work the charity does to help vulnerable young people through surfing.

The increased support will see dryrobe contribute significantly to projects that help vulnerable young people from inner cities experience the benefit of surf therapy. A large portion of this funding will be used to support the Wave Project scheme in London, giving the opportunity for vulnerable young people, who may not have regular access to the sea, to experience the therapeutic benefits of surfing.

The partnership will continue to see dryrobe support Wave Project sessions across the country, keeping participants warm, comfortable and happy while enjoying their time on the beach and learning to surf.

The Wave Project started in 2010 as a voluntary group funded by the NHS in Cornwall, with the aim of using volunteers to provide one-to-one surfing lessons for young people with mental health issues as a way of getting them outside, doing physical exercise and feeling more confident about themselves. This first project achieved outstanding results.
