South Devon AC runners put the Christmas and New Year excesses well behind them with some great running at the Dawlish Coasters nine-mile Oh My Obelisk race on Sunday.

The race was the first in the South Devon AC 2022 Grand Prix series - next in February is the Looe 10 miler.

The course is hilly and muddy with some great views and was well run and marshalled by the Dawlish Coasters.

SDAC had three runners in the top 10 with Colin Peters first back in second place overall.

In sixth place overall, Jon Hiscoke took a big chunk of his course PB and 17th place Dani Waters was third female.

Great running by everyone whether on the comeback trail or on the start of their racing journey.

It was also back to business as usual for the Carr family – juniors Hannah and Lauren ran in the Devon schools 4km cross country finishing 31st and 27th , Grace Povey also competed finishing in 48th place.

The same evening, Lauren ran the Woodbury Common 5K finishing fourth overall and first female.

Steve Carr also ran the Woodbury Common 5K finishing 8th and winning his age category.

A great start to the year for South Devon AC and lets keep the dedication and momentum going!
