The Hole in the Wall, Torquay’s oldest pub, remains closed as Stonegate Group searches for a new publican.
The historic venue, which shut its doors in April, is owned by the Stonegate Group. Reopening plans are yet to be finalised as the company has not yet appointed a new licensee.
The Torbay Weekly understands that no reopening date can be confirmed at this stage.

A spokesperson for Stonegate Group said: “We are currently in the early stages of looking for a new publican for The Hole In The Wall. If anyone is interested, they can contact our recruitment team at Contact Us | Stonegate Pub Partners for more information.”
Founded in 2010 with 333 pubs, Stonegate Group has expanded through twelve major acquisitions to become the largest pub company in the UK.
The company’s acquisition of The Hole In The Wall marks another step in its growth, bringing this much-loved Torquay establishment under its umbrella.
