Two arrested in Ashburton as police seize £11k of drugs

Officers from the South Devon Proactive Team arrested two men in Ashburton yesterday (29 April) in connection to the supply of drugs.

The officers carried out enquiries after noticing some suspicious behaviour in the area and searched two men under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A quantity of drugs were located which led officers to search of a nearby address, where they located a rucksack of suspected cannabis and heroin – with an estimated street value of over £11,000.

Drug paraphernalia including scales, packaging, multiple mobile phones and sim cards were also found and seized.

Two local men, aged 52 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin and possession of a controlled drugs. They have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
