The biggest fireworks display in Torbay's history was one of many bank holiday weekend celebrations to mark King Charles III's coronation.

Simon and George DeVey, from Anderton and Rowland's Funfair, splashed out £25,000 to ensure coronation celebrations went with a bang.

The display on Paignton seafront on Saturday evening was: "For the people of Torbay and our visitors."

And residents took to social media to thank them. Tim Morris posted: "Utterly fantastic fireworks. I take my hat off the the DeVey family."

Amber Biddx, of Paignton, wrote: "Great to see everyone out. The ending - wow, well done to everyone involved. Four very happy children. You did amazingly. Thank you so much!"

Debb Tee posted: "An absolutely fantatstic firework display, thank you."

"Thank you to Anderton and Rowland for putting on another brilliant event," posted Danny Heale.

Eddie Authers wrote: "Fabulous display tonight, Big thanks to all the DeVey family for there continual support for our beautiful Bay. God save our King."

A free event, there will be collections on the night in aid of Rowcroft Hospice and Paignton Festival.

Coronation celebrations in Brixham also featured fireworks with a display that wowed locals and visitors from The Breakwater on Sunday evening.

Organised by Brixham Future CIC, the fireworks were just one of 40 celebration events held from Wednesday, May 3, to Monday, May 9.

In Torquay, the coronation ceremony was live streamed on a big screen on Torre Abbey Meadows. On Sunday, the team behind Children's Week delivered an afternoon of family entertainment including live music from Joey The Lips, the Rock Choir, Sound Communities and The Humanitarians on the coronation stage.

Torbay Community Development Trust (TCDT) ran a volunteer hub to showcase Torbay-wide volunteering opportunities, ahead of The Big Help Out national event on bank holiday Monday. More than 15 local organisations will there talk about the positive impact volunteering has on local communities and how anyone can get involved.
