Firefighters rescued one person trapped in a vehicle following a road traffic collision in Paignton in the early hours of today. Fire engines from Paignton were sent to reports of a collision on Penwill Way, Goodrington, at 1.20am Saturday (October 29)

Firefighters rescued one person trapped in a vehicle following a road traffic collision in Paignton in the early hours of today.

Fire engines from Paignton were sent to reports of a collision on Penwill Way, Goodrington, at 1.20am Saturday (October 29) with possible persons trapped.  

"Upon arrival crews confirmed one person physically trapped within vehicle," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

"Crews set to work to extricate the casualty using electrical cutting equipment, small tools and lighting.  

"The casualty was released from the vehicle and left in the care of the ambulance service."
