Torquay businessman Nick Powe turned deputy Lord Lieutenant of Devon as the county paid their Remembrance respects.
Mr Powe was at Torquay railway station at the crack of dawn to hand over the Lord Lieutenant of Devon's wreath to a Great Western Railway train for the Poppies to Paddington GWR remembrance event.
The picture was taken by Angela Webb, a resident of Torquay who saw the event publicised on the GWR website, and who joined Mr Powe on the platform.
The wreath travelled 'with dignity' to London Paddington Station. There, it was ceremoniously placed at the War Memorial alongside wreaths from across the GWR network and UK Rail representatives, as part of our Railway 200 service celebrating the railway's vital involvement in conflict.
