Brixham's fishing community have come together to give the town's rugby playing youngsters a cash boost.
Brixham's fishing community have come together to give the town's rugby playing youngsters a cash boost.
A total of £3,750 has been donated to Brixham Youth Rugby Club.
Brixham Fish Market says: "This collective contribution supports the growth of local youth sport and reflects our continued commitment to the local community."
The individuals and organisations who made this donation possible are Brixham Trawler Agents, Waterdance,
Rockfish, Coombe Fisheries, Ocean Fish, Michael Sharp, Derek Meredith, Shaun Ryan, Shaun Irvine, Amethyst & Endeavour, Dave Driver, Darren Passmore, McLeod Trawlers.
The fish market adds: "We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all who took part in this generous effort."
Brixham Youth Rugby Club said a big thankyou: "On behalf of Brixham Youth Rugby Club I am writing to thank you and the Fishing Community of Brixham for your overwhelming generosity yet again in supporting our young people throughout all the events that we have organised this year.
"To give you some idea of just what your money supports, here are a few examples of the breadth and depth that your funds reach:
• Training Equipment for 12 teams
• RFU training courses for our Coaches
• Veo Camera for recording and game analysis
• Purchase/outfitting of container for youth equipment storage
• Upgrading a wheelchair for one of our nearest and dearest
• Financially supporting families in need so that their children can join a team
• Gifting a free place to several local children at Rugby Camp
• Hosting “Train Like a Chief”
"Your combined sponsorship enables us to build a continuous stream of young people who have experienced comradeship, team building, being aware of their individual strengths and building upon them. Thank you!”
