ROTARY'S traditional Babbacombe Fayre on the Downs returns on Sunday August 10 and promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

This popular community event is back with some exciting attractions for all the family including the charity dog show in aid of Animals in Distress and sponsored by Pads & Paws pet shop.

President of the Rotary Club of Torbay Sunrise, Steve Holdup, said: "Thanks to sponsorship from The Cary Arms, we are looking forward to 2025 being a bumper year.

“Last year, we enabled stallholders and local businesses to enjoy a real boost while also raising funds for Rotary charities. We are so thrilled to be able to bring the whole community together for another exciting fayre at such a beautiful location."

He added: “This charity event has always been one of the favourites in Torbay’s calendar and now will be celebrating its 67th year.”

Now under the leadership of The Rotary Club of Torbay Sunrise. visitors can also expect a special visit by Torquay’s famous therapy pony, Patrick, with bouncy castles and lots of activities for the children and young-at-heart.

More than 90 stalls will be gathering on the Downs including traders and charities, as well as the traditional tombolas, hooplas, bric-a-brac, books, plants, crafts and toys. There will also be all manner of delights to eat and drink at the various outlets.

The day starts at 10am until 4pm with live entertainment throughout the event. The line-up includes the 60-strong Rock Choir, the Shanty Singers, the Babbacombe Ukulele Strummers, young performers from the Razzamatazz Stage School, Tai Chi, Zumba and local soloist singers Leonie and Anais. Official comperes on the day will be Torbay Hospital Radio.

The fun dog show will be accepting entries from 10am with the show kicking off at midday, judged by Karen Medway from Torquay Dog Training once again this year.
