Torbay Tomorrow showcased at Torbay Business Forum breakfast

Business forum peeks behind the scenes of Torbay’s future

The Torbay Weekly was given an opportunity by the Torbay Business Forum for it to showcase its new business-to-business magazine, Torbay Tomorrow, at the forum's latest breakfast event.

Jim Parker, editor of Torbay Weekly and chair of the Place Board, joined Jon-Paul Hedge, Interim Place Manager for Torbay Council, to give talks on the Torbay Story and the co-ordinated efforts happening behind the scenes to shape Torbay’s future.

Staff from Clear Sky Publishing,  owners of the Torbay Weekly and Torbay Tomorrow, were on hand to distribute over 100 copies of Torbay Tomorrow, just a week after its launch.

Jim said: “Thankyou to the Forum for allowing us to show off our new magazine. It has been well received by everybody and we’re looking forward to producing the second edition in the summer.”

Jeremy Aspinall, trustee for Torbay United, took the networking forum’s community slot to share the incredible work they are doing to support local people. This includes the YUM Bus, a mobile social supermarket providing essential food resources to those in need.

The Torbay Business Forum also took the opportunity to thank their new gold sponsor, Team Factors and Jordan Bond, as well as their silver sponsor, Bishop Fleming, for making these events possible.

Chair of the forum, Steve Reynolds, said: “Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Riviera International Centre for our Torbay Business Forum breakfast event! It was inspiring to hear Jon-Paul Hedge share insights into the Torbay Story and the Torbay Champions and witness the incredible community efforts from Torbay United, like the YUM Bus, that are making a real difference in our area.

“We also had the opportunity to discuss the upcoming Riviera Connect Expo on 16 October at RIC, and we encourage everyone to nominate individuals and businesses (and to enter) for the Torbay Business Awards, which we proudly sponsor. A massive thank-you to our sponsors for making these events possible — your support fosters crucial connections and discussions for a brighter future in Torbay. If you missed out, we look forward to welcoming you next month!”

The next Torbay Business Forum event, featuring more speakers and networking opportunities, will be held at The Redcliffe Hotel in Paignton on May 6.

The deadline to enter or nominate someone for the Torbay Business Awards is April 25.
