A Brixham College student has been recognised for her contributions to youth achievement by the Rotary Club of Brixham.

Isobel Jones was officially honoured at the Rotary District Conference, where she was this year’s nominee.

A dedicated member of Brixham College’s Interact Club—which empowers students to take action through community and international service—Isobel has helped raise thousands for charity.

Susan Laurie, president of the Rotary Club, said: “We are delighted that Isobel, who has been a member of the Interact Club at Brixham College, has received this recognition. Isobel has been a member of Interact since year 7 and is now in year 11. She has served as Vice President of the Club for 3 years and only recently stepped down due to the need to take her exams.

“Her teachers have said that they have seen her grow as an individual during this time, and she is a great team player who has developed excellent leadership skills. Isobel played a key part in Brixham Interact raising over £2600 for Race for Life and is a credit to her college.”

More details of the Rotary Club of Brixham and its charitable donations and events are available on the club website www.brixhamrotary.org and their Facebook page.
