Torbay Weekly welcomes its newest member

Tiegan Way

Tiegan Way has joined the Torbay Weekly team as its new Sales and Marketing Executive.

A 2022 graduate of the University of Falmouth with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing, Tiegan plans to leverage modern digital strategies to engage more customers across Torbay.

Devon-born and -raised, Tiegan has lived in Dawlish and Teignmouth her entire life, attending Teignmouth Community School and Sixth Form.

Before joining Clear Sky Publishing, the owner of the Torbay Weekly, Tiegan worked as a digital marketing assistant for Evo Lifestyle Products, the sole distributor of the popular cleaning sponge, Scrub Daddy.

In that role, she was responsible for content creation, social media management, email campaigns, and blog writing.

Over time, she naturally transitioned into developing strategies for the company by consistently analysing industry trends and monitoring the bigger picture.

Tiegan is confident that her creative marketing background will enable her to implement innovative digital strategies to enhance the Torbay Weekly’s media presence across the Bay.

She said: “I wanted to step into something more managerial, and this role is all about strategy. Sales and marketing have a lot of transferable skills. Both involve finding creative ways to maximise business potential.”

Tiegan is currently conducting market research on Torbay, analysing trends, and exploring digital tools to identify opportunities and align with business objectives.

When asked about her initial impressions of the industry, Tiegan highlighted its fast-paced, dynamic nature.

She said: “The market changes quickly, so you need to be agile. But that agility works in a business’s favour because it constantly creates new opportunities to use tools to enhance growth.

“For instance, I’m sure many businesses see AI as a challenge right now. But AI can actually offer a symbiotic relationship, providing countless ways to help businesses innovate and adapt.”

Tiegan has also partnered with Andy Sexton, former Regional Sales Manager for Clear Sky Publishing, to learn more traditional sales techniques while leading with a digital-first approach.

Together, they are planning to offer clients tailored packages that may focus heavily on digital marketing or a combination of digital and print solutions.

Tiegan said: “I think we balance and complement each other really well.”

One of her biggest challenges will be marketing Torbay on a broader scale to raise its profile nationally. She hopes that by targeting multiple markets within a single digital strategy, she can attract people from across the country to visit Torbay.
