Pre-Christmas trade is booming at garden centre giants Plants Galore.

It's all down to their 'super' way of operating, offering customers 'super' festive prices.

Plants Galore recently opened their new “Christmas Decorations and Lights superstores” across all five of their regional centres, including their Newton Abbot business at Forches Cross.

The new retail concept is designed to focus on Christmas value and bring a superior range of Christmas products together all in one single store location at extremely low prices.
Co-owner Tony Joyner said: "We’ve navigated massive UK inflation in recent years and decided our best route forward is to focus on buying large volumes directly from manufacturers.

"By cutting out the UK import companies and buying more direct, we can buy exactly the same excellent quality decorations and lights but retail at 50 per cent of the usual retail price – in effect we can now sell at wholesale prices direct to the public.

“Early sales have already increased 300 per cent so I’m confident customers already love the new, very low prices.”

The new look stores include massive displays with great information as well as customer service advice and assistance on hand.

Tony said: "We already sell 6ft / 7ft Nordman Christmas trees at just £21.95 during our Black November promotion period and are the biggest independent Christmas tree retailer in the South West region selling 25,000 trees – so Christmas is already a big deal for us.

"But with the addition of our new Christmas Decorations and Lights superstores alongside our fantastic Christmas Tree centres then we have a much stronger overall offer and twice the reason to visit us.”

He added: "Our staff teams are simply fantastic, and we recently announced new profit share bonuses and retail store performance bonuses of £300,000 for 2025 as we look to move forward to navigating tricky economic times in the next few years. We have superb staff across the business, and we are trying to make sure they are well rewarded.

"We are now planning our launch of Spring 2025 with the same cheaper prices across the board of all horticultural sundries and equipment so we are going through a significant transition to become the number one garden and Christmas retailer in the south west.”

Plants Galore also have stores in Plymouth, Totnes, Exeter and Yeovil.
