St Matthias Church in Wellswood will be offering a treat for all lovers of organ music at 7.30 pm on Saturday the 18th May.

David Davies is well known to audiences both locally and internationally. He has held church and cathedral appointments in the UK and the USA, including currently at Exeter University, and has given concerts across Europe and the US.

The programme he has chosen is planned to appeal to all and will feature traditional favourites as well as newer works by among others Johann Strauss, Camille Saint-Saens, Charles-Marie Widor, Ennio Morricone, and Edward Elgar.

David’s technical expertise, and his entertaining presentation style will again be backed up by a full video view allowing the audience to follow the performance in close up.
David said: “I am delighted to be able to play at St Matthias again, playing the wonderful Hill organ and contributing to music-making in Babbacombe”.

The evening is being organised by the Friends of St Matthias, a charity set up over thirty years ago to raise funds for the maintenance of the church building and grounds.  Rob Newman, Chairman of the Friends commented. “This will be David’s fourth visit, and we are delighted he has agreed to return”.
