A Torbay primary school has paid tribute to a boy whose 'unexplained death' is being investigated

A Torbay primary school has paid tribute to a nine-year-old boy whose death is at the centre of a police investigation in Brixham.
The child died on Sunday January 28 and police are now probing his 'unexplained' death.
He attended Eden Park Primary School in the port.
Eden Park Primary and Nursery School said in a message on social media: "Everyone at Eden Park Primary School and Connect Academy Trust are very shocked and saddened by the sudden passing away of a pupil at Eden Park.
"He was a delightful little boy who embraced all aspects of school life. He touched the hearts of adults and children with his infectious smile, joy of life and caring nature. He especially loved playtimes, all things natural and learning in the outdoor environment.

"This is an incredibly difficult time for everyone who knew the child personally. The whole school community is being supported by a wellbeing team at this time. As you may be aware, there is a current investigation around the circumstances of his death and the school is liaising with the police. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the police on 101 quoting log 580 of 28 January 2024."
Police are appealing for witnesses. Officers were called to Glenmore Road at 6.20pm on Sunday January 28 after a report that a man and child had been seen walking the area, with the child appearing unwell.
Emergency services attended a nearby address where the boy was located, and emergency first aid was given before he was taken to hospital. Sadly, he was later confirmed deceased. His next of kin have been informed.

A 47-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of child neglect has been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.

Detective Inspector Jen Rose said: “I’m appealing to hear from anyone who was in Drew Street, Penn Lane, Castor Road, Greenswood Road and Bolton Street between 5pm and 7pm and may have witnessed the incident. We believe that there were members of the public who attempted to speak to the man and child. I’d urge anyone who hasn’t yet spoken to police, anyone who has footage of any kind, including dashcam, mobile phone and doorbell footage to please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting lo 580 of 28 January.
