Lightbulb moment
2024 in the Torbay community
As we enjoy the warmth of the festive season, the communities of Hele, Watcombe, and Barton, alongside the Willows, are also looking forward to a promising start in 2024.
The holiday period is seeing a vibrant array of events, bringing residents together in our community centres and churches, fostering a sense of togetherness that lingers as we prepare to welcome the new year.
With 2024 on the horizon, thoughts naturally turn to fresh starts and resolutions. The community is invited to ponder: What would you like to see happen in 2024? To channel these aspirations, we are gearing up for an Ideas Fair. This event is a call to action, encouraging residents to dream big and share ideas that can enrich our already cherished community.
Residents are urged to consider initiatives that enhance green spaces, promote inclusivity, or foster creativity. The Ideas Fair, set to take place soon, will serve as a collaborative platform where community members can share their visions, seek support, and work together to turn dreams into reality.
Simultaneously, a bittersweet farewell is extended to Dan Best, a Community Builder who has played a pivotal role in strengthening the community fabric. As Dan moves on to new opportunities, the search for a new Community Builder is underway, with interviews scheduled in the first week of January.
This presents an exciting opportunity for someone to step into the role of Community Builder and continue the legacy of fostering collaboration, innovation, and community spirit. This change, coupled with the Ideas Fair, sets the stage for a dynamic and transformative 2024.
Hele, Watcombe, and Barton residents are poised for a year of growth and collective action in the spirit of unity and positivity. The community's shared dreams and aspirations are the driving force behind initiatives that will shape a future built upon the treasures we already hold dear. Let's embark on this journey together, creating a vibrant and inclusive community that reflects the spirit of 2024.
