Jonathan Hiscoke and Stuart Batten
International honours this weekend went to Louise Lewry at the Amsterdam Marathon
After a sudden autumnal change in the weather over night runners were treated to a freezing hail storm in the opening mile but there was no stopping Louise as she finished her 26.2 miles inside the Olympic Stadium in a personal best time of 3.36.09.
Graham Reynolds crossed the border for Cornwall's biggest running event, the Eden Marathon. A challenging multi terrain route through spectacular Cornish countryside around the Eden Project, Graham ran a fantastic time of 4.16.29 and was third in his age group.
Across the border in the opposite direction and Bath Half Marathon saw a group of club runners taking on 13.1 miles around the city. Jonathan Hiscoke and Stuart Batten teamed up to continue their amazing fund raising efforts, which as part of a larger team has seen them raise over £13,500 for The Grand Appeal for Bristol Children's Hospital. The duo completed the course together in 1.35.56 (Jonathan) and 1.36.02 (Stuart). Kate Maslin finished just ahead in a great time of 1.33.29 and completing the tri team was Andrew Chapell 1.42.06.
A trio of club runners made the short journey to Haldon for a multi-terrain nine miler. Promising a grandstand finish at the racecourse, Laura Wilby continued her fine running season to finish second overall and first lady in 62.30 with Devon Macs not far behind in 64.59 (1st AG) and Helen Chapell 72.01 (1st AG).
