Torbay Inn presented with RNLI certificate

The pirates of Paignton's Torbay Inn have been at it again

Their 'booty' is the money they raise for the Torbay Royal National Lifeboat Institute.
It is the this year landlords Dave and Sue Ballinger have staged the popular fundraising event.
They had pig racing on the Friday night, through the day on Saturday there were masses of musical and other fun entertainment, including magician 'Les the Fez' and face-painting for the children, culminating with an infamous Karaoke where, you pay to sing, others pay for you to stop and others pay to keep you on stage.
Of special mention was 'pirate' Keith Durbridge who, with his RNLI collecting bucket and a contactless donation machine, collected over £600 himself in just a few hours, whilst his “FitBit” showed he had done over 2,000 steps that afternoon.
Torbay Lifeboat Fundraisers’ Chairman Peter Thorp went along to receive a cheque for £2,087 from Dave, Sue and staff member Dan Andrew and also presented the Torbay Inn with their third RNLI 'Thank You' certificate.
Peter said “The Torbay Inn is an absolutely great fundraiser for our local Torbay lifeboat station. We would like to thank everyone, staff, customers, entertainers, involved in the Pirate Weekend. Next year the RNLI celebrates its 200th Anniversary and we look forward to working with the Torbay Inn once again."
