Paignton Rugby derby
Big weekend for Brixham rugby
At least some ears may be directed towards events elsewhere when Brixham 1st XV resume after the first seasonal break against Exmouth at Astley Park on Saturday.
Tribute SW League leaders Chew Valley, whom the Fishermen have already beaten this season, are at home to promotion rivals Devonport Services this weekend.
A victory for Services, currently two points behind Chew, would tighten things up considerably and open up the race for others, including Brixham and Exmouth.
In the Regional Two division, Newton Abbot and Teignmouth are both on the road, Teignmouth on a long one to Truro.
Improving Paignton also head to Cornwall to meet Penryn in Western West, while Devon leaders Torquay Athletic will hope to extend their 100% record at home to Plymouth Argaum.
There’s also a ‘Bay’ derby in the Counties Three SW division – Paignton 2nds-v-Torquay 2nds at Queen’s Park.
Saturday’s local league fixtures include: Reg One – Brixham v Exmouth; Reg Two – Chard v Newton Abbot, Truro v Teignmouth; Cos One WW – Penryn v Paignton; Cos Two Devon – Torquay Athletic v Plymouth Argaum; Cos Three SW – Dartmouth v Salcombe, Kingsbridge II v Brixham II. Paignton II v Torquay Athletic II, Totnes v Tamar Saracens; NE – Cullompton II v New Cross, Newton Abbot II v Exeter Athletic, Teignmouth II v Tiverton II.
