Waddeton Approach
Up to 60 new homes could be built in Paignton
Up to 60 new homes could be built in Paignton as developers move to build on empty land off Long Road.
Abacus/Deeley Freed, the firm behind the nearby Inglewood development, has applied to Torbay Council to build on land at Waddeton Approach, an undeveloped grass plot bordered by a Lidl store, a Premier Inn and the EPIC high-tech business start-up centre.
A number of new houses have been constructed on land around it in recent years, along with buildings linked to nearby South Devon College.
The developers want outline permission to build on the 12,000 square metre site, and will submit details of the proposed access. Parking will be provided for 79 vehicles.
The development would feature three-bedroomed houses and flats or maisonettes to be sold on the open market. A number will be for social and affordable housing.
