A Paignton building society has donated £1,000 to Rowcroft Hospice as part of its support for charities across the UK.
Rowcroft received the donation from the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation after being nominated by colleagues at the society’s Paignton branch in Hyde Road.
Yvette Goldsmith, branch manager, said: “We are proud to be able to support Rowcroft Hospice with a donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation. The work they are doing to support adults living with life-limiting illnesses and their families is providing a real benefit to their lives.”
Hayley Norrish, trust fundraiser at Rowcroft Hospice, said “We are really thankful for the donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation that will help us continue to provide our services.”
Rowcroft Hospice supports adults living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. They are committed to making every day the best day possible for people living with life-limiting illnesses and providing comfort and support to families coping with the hardest days.
The £1,000 donation to Rowcroft Hospice will go towards vital medical supplies.
Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference® scheme where members donate the pennies from the interest on their accounts just once a year to help smaller charities around the UK.
Last year, the Charitable Foundation celebrated donating £9million to registered charities nominated by members and colleagues from around the UK, since 1999.
