Grecians v Argyle derby day dawns

City fans will be in the Kawasaki Barn Park Stand

Exeter City head into Saturday’s Devon Derby clash with renewed belief as they prepare to face Plymouth Argyle at Home Park for the first time since October 2022.

Monday’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers proved a turning point for the Grecians, ending a frustrating 15-match winless run. The result also means City have picked up four points from their last three outings, injecting momentum at a crucial stage of the 2025/26 campaign.

With just four matches remaining, Exeter travel down the A38 knowing confidence is returning at exactly the right time. However, they face an Argyle side equally buoyant after their own 3-0 win over Barnsley, a result that has strengthened their push towards the play-off places.

The earlier meeting between the two sides this season still lingers in the memory for Exeter supporters. A superb 2-0 victory at St James Park saw Reece Cole and Akeel Higgins find the net in a dominant derby display — a performance the Grecians will be eager to replicate on their rivals’ turf.

Saturday’s lunchtime showdown is a complete sell-out, with Exeter’s full allocation of 1,770 tickets snapped up quickly. The away end will be packed with travelling supporters housed in Blocks 21–23 of the Kawasaki Barn Park Stand, ensuring a fierce and vocal backing.

Those without tickets have been urged not to travel, but for the fortunate fans making the short trip along the Devon Expressway, the message is clear: bring the noise.

Exeter will don their iconic red and white stripes as they look to claim derby bragging rights once again — and potentially deliver a defining result in the closing stages of their season.
