The Easter weekend brought a well-earned break from competitive action for North Devon Rugby Clubs and an opportunity for Torrington RFC to share an early concept on potential plans for future developments.
The bold vision includes an all-weather playing surface to support year-round rugby, improved spectator facilities, dedicated gym and strength & conditioning space, recovery and rehabilitation area for players and extended clubhouse facilities for members and visitors
The club said: “This forms part of a wider long-term ambition not only to grow rugby in Torrington, but to continue progressing on the field — with the ultimate goal of pushing towards the Premiership in the years ahead.
“A lot of work would need to happen before anything like this became reality — but ambition is important, and clubs only move forward by thinking big.”
But these great plans were posted on April Fool's Day!?!?
Barnstaple Chiefs return to National League 2 action with a trip to Cheshire and a tough game against Lymm, who are one placed behind Barum in the table.
The Chiefs have just three games to play in a satisfying season back at this level. Although form has dropped off after a superb start to the campaign, Barum will remain in the division next year.
The season is also drawing to a close for Bideford Chiefs and South Molton, both of whom will be looking for a strong conclusion to cement their places near the top of the Counties 2 Devon division.
