Cheeky Chiefs Women's calendar a sell out

Exeter Chiefs Women have raised more than £3,000 for charity with the launch of their first-ever Exposed calendar.

The calendar, inspired by the long-running men’s version, has now completely sold out just a few months after launch.

It was created by the players to promote body positivity while raising funds for Breast Cancer Now and the Exeter Chiefs Foundation. It is believed to be the first initiative of its kind in the Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR).

Featuring 19 members of the current squad, the calendar also included pink accessories as a nod to Breast Cancer Now. Demand proved strong, with two print runs selling out and all proceeds donated to the two charities.

Linde van der Velden, who helped organise the shoot and featured as February’s player, said the team had been delighted with the response.

“We were so pleased with the success of the calendar. To sell out two print runs was very satisfying, especially as it wasn’t the easiest thing to do for many of us,” she said. “But we wanted to show how proud we are of our bodies and what they are capable of.

“We are also very grateful to all the supporters who purchased the calendar as we have been able to give two donations to these charities.”

Breast Cancer Now said the initiative would help fund vital work and raise awareness.
