Two brothers who run the North Devon franchise of an innovative surfacing business have received the Young Guns Award at the British Franchise Awards for 2025.

Scott and Cameron Stevenson were singled out for their rapid business growth and entrepreneurial since taking on the eco-friendly Oltco North Devon franchise in 2022.

The business offers resin-bound resurfacing solutions, combining recycled plastic with stone to create high-performance surfaces for driveways, patios, pathways and flooring.

Using the Oltco product Recycle Bound, the pair have helped recycle the equivalent of 47 million plastic straws through installations across Devon.

Their commitment to green innovation and five-star service has propelled Oltco Devon towards a projected £1million turnover in 2025-26, firmly establishing them among the leaders in the region’s sustainable construction sector.

The British Franchise Awards, sponsored by HSBC UK, celebrate the UK’s brightest rising stars in business and are known as the ‘Oscars of franchising’.

Scott and Cam Stevenson brought the North Devon Oltco franchise in 2022 with no prior knowledge of the surfacing sector - Scott transitioned from a career in the Royal Navy and offshore renewables.

He said: “We’re incredibly proud to win the Young Guns Award. It’s a huge moment for us and for Oltco. We’ve worked hard to build a business that reflects Oltco’s values of innovation, sustainability and quality and winning this award is a massive moment for our family and our team.

“Every driveway, patio or pathway we lay is a chance to make our community that little bit greener, and that’s something we’re really proud of.”

Cam added: “Running a business with my brother has been a brilliant journey. We’ve faced every challenge together and shared every success.

“Devon has backed us from day one and this award feels like a win for everyone who’s supported us, from our customers to our team. We’re proud to show what’s possible when local people work together with purpose.

“Being part of the Oltco network has given us the platform to grow something truly meaningful and to be recognised by the British Franchise Association is an honour.”
