Prizes handed out for a brilliant season on the water
Torquay Rowing Club held their annual dinner and awards evening at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club.
The Club President, Rob Smith, was unable to attend due to being hospitalised during the week. He sent a message via his daughter Charlotte thanking all for their work through the year and the gradual building of a successful club, from the committee organising various events to the juniors upwards on the water.
The Club Captain Richard Cudmore also praised the club on its efforts on the water for a small club, which is potentially growing.
The following awards were announced during the evening:
President’s Trophy for commitment to the club – Richard Cudmore.
Most improved oarswoman - Ann Ashworth.
Most improved oarsman - Vensan Crushcov.
Oarsome trophy given to the crews involved saving a swimmer off Paignton and consequently the club receiving a certificate from British Rowing.
Most Successful rower - Barbara Mears.
Members club person of the year - Ray Bedder.
