Pictures: Winter Wonderland and Fatstock festivities in South Molton

South Molton’s Christmas continues with a Winter Wonderland, lantern parade and the eagerly-awaited annual Fatstock show

South Molton has been enjoying a busy weekend of festive cheer, kicking off on Friday night (December 5) with its Winter Wonderland and lantern parade.

The popular event was followed on Sunday by the annual Fatstock show in the town’s Pannier Market.

Christmas got well and truly underway on Friday as Broad Street filled with hundreds of handmade lanterns, created by local primary schools and a group from Earth Action North Devon.

The celebrations continued inside the market, which will be transformed into the now traditional and very popular bustling Winter Wonderland, with live music and entertainment, festive food and drink and plenty to see and do.

Heavy rain just before the parade did not deter people for long and the town centre was soon filled with crowds enjoying the evening.

Then on Sunday it was the turn of the annual Fatstock Show, with stalls dedicated to local food and drink, livestock classes, lamb and poultry to buy, machinery displays and more entertainment.

The event was once again very busy and this year was also raising money for Children's Hospice South West.
