Dylan Morgan departs Torquay United but Jacob Beaumont Clark is signed

Torquay United have sold winger Dylan Morgan to League Two club Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee but signed former Everton youngster Jacob Beaumont Clark.

Morgan, 23, has moved to the Broadfield Stadium on an initial two-year contract.

He had scored 13 goals, including a hat-trick against Bath City (4-1) at Plainmoor in April last season, in 56 appearances.

Morgan had started his senior career at Swansea City before spells with Taunton Town and Yeovil Town.

“It’s a great deal for him, and a great deal for the football club,” said Gulls manager Jimmy Ball.

“Dylan has earned his opportunity through his performances and his attitude.

“He can leave with his head held high and knowing that he has made a positive contribution to this football club.”

Moving in the other direction, United have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of former Everton winger Jacob Beaumont Clark.

The talented 20-year-old wideman arrives at Plainmoor with a strong reputation, having developed through the ranks at Premier League club Everton before putting pen to paper on his first professional contract with the Toffees in the summer of 2024.

Beaumont-Clark gained valuable senior experience with Everton Under-21s, making five appearances in the Football League Trophy over the past two seasons.

He also got himself on the scoresheet in memorable fashion last November, opening the scoring for Everton Under-21s in their eventual 5-3 defeat away to Grimsby Town.

The arrival of Beaumont-Clark – known as ‘JBC’ – comes at an opportune time for United boss Jimmy Ball, following the departure of fellow attacker Dylan Morgan to Crawley Town on Friday evening.
