The winter parking promotion will run from November 28, 2026, to January 3, 2027, at selected car parks across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, with prices ranging from £1.80 to £1.90 for the entire day.

For keen Christmas shoppers, parking is set to become more affordable and hassle-free this festive season, with a special winter parking promotion returning at selected car parks in Torbay.

Torbay Council has confirmed that the winter parking offer will be returning for its 8th consecutive year, running from November 28, 2026, to January 3, 2027, at selected parks across Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.

Drivers will only need to pay the equivalent of a 1-hour parking fee, with the payment covering their stay until midnight on the day of arrival, meaning visitors can enjoy their days out without constantly keeping an eye on the clock.

Prices range from £1.80 to £1.90 for the entire day, depending on the car park, making it an affordable option for those planning a festive day out in the Bay.

Torbay Council hopes the promotion will encourage residents and visitors to spend more time in the bay’s town centres, supporting local cafes, shops, restaurants and attractions.

The promotion will also coincide with this year’s Bay of Lights, which is set to return with a 1.5-mile illuminated trail, an ice rink, a Christmas market and plenty of festive activities across Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

In Torquay, the promotion will be available at the following car parks: Lower Union Lane (£1.80), Union Square (£1.80) and Harbour (£1.90).

Paignton’s Victoria car park (£1.80) will also be included, alongside Brixham’s Freshwater (£1.90), Oxen Cove (£1.90) and Brixham Central (£1.80) car parks.

However, there are some restrictions to be aware of.

Union Square car park closes at 7pm, while Brixham Central has a maximum stay of 3 hours between 7am and 3pm.

The promotion still applies at both car parks, meaning drivers can pay the 1-hour rate but stay for longer, subject to the usual restrictions.

Councillor Adam Billings, Cabinet Member for Pride in Place and Parking, said the council is delighted to bring back the promotion for another year.

He said: "We're pleased to bring back our popular winter parking promotion for an eighth consecutive year.”

"The festive season is an important time for our local businesses, and this initiative helps make it easier and more affordable for residents and visitors to spend time in our town centres.”

"Whether you're visiting the Bay of Lights, doing some Christmas shopping, meeting friends and family or enjoying one of the many festive events taking place across Torbay, the promotion gives you more flexibility to make a day of it.”

"I encourage everyone to take advantage of the offer and enjoy everything Torbay has to offer this winter."
