Torbay’s biggest business event is back — and it’s bigger than ever. with hi-tech playing a big part for the first time.

The Riviera International Centre, Torquay will once again host Riviera Connect Expo, a full day of ideas, inspiration, and networking brought to you by Torbay Business Forum and the English Riviera BID Company on Thursday October 16.

The 2026 event will include over 100 exhibitors, a brand-new Hi Tech Zone curated by the EPIC Centre, and a packed programme of inspiring speakers.

The subjects range from disruptive leadership and regeneration to AI, branding, tourism, and international events.

Growth & Resilience: Andrew Clancy, founder of Coreus and C Squared, will share his extraordinary journey scaling two award-winning property businesses to £10m+ turnover in just five years, with lessons on resilience, culture, and redefining success.

Carolyn Custerson, CEO of the English Riviera BID Company, will give an update on the region’s visitor economy, including insights from this year’s TV campaign and opportunities for businesses to benefit from the English Riviera brand.

Multi world stand-up paddleboard record holder Brendon Prince will tell his inspiring story of endurance and share how the SUP World Cup 2026 will put Torbay in the international spotlight, driving both profile and prosperity.

David Carter (Torbay Council) and Chris Wheeler (Willmott Dixon) will reveal how bold regeneration projects are transforming the Bay, while Sean Anstee (Devon & Torbay Combined County Authority) explains how devolution is unlocking opportunities in housing, transport, and skills.

Simon Beer from Bigwave Marketing will lead an interactive brand-building session, while Gemma Ross of Chalk & Ward will guide businesses through campaign planning essentials.

Richard Netherclift and Peter Blackler of Insignia Creative will demystify artificial intelligence with live demonstrations of platforms like OpenAI, Gemini, and Midjourney

There will also be leadership coaching with Jess Wiggins and diversity insights from Vic Williams, creativity in business with Sam Webber and LinkedIn mastery with Grace Jolley.
John Harvey, founder of The Samphire Club, will also share how to transform networking from handshakes into genuine, game-changing opportunities.
For the first time, Riviera Connect will include a Hi Tech Zone delivered in partnership with the EPIC Centre, Paignton. This dedicated space showcases the groundbreaking technology being developed in Torbay, featuring businesses such as Epic / THTC, Superb Media, QLM, Bay Photonics, Tomlinson Solutions, Queensdate Prior and G&H.
